  8. Below is a partial list of vendors that have Network utilities pertaining
  9. to Netware 4.10 NDS administration.   It is not a recommendation list.
  10. It is only a list of packages that I have heard support NDS.   
  11. The description text is from their own materials.

  21. If you are looking for 'yet' more Netware 3.x utilities and a reliable 
  22. Network menu system, then contact Net Enhancment Inc. at 1-713-446-6727.  
  23. They have a number of items that help 'clamp' down the security on your 
  24. network. Everything from software password keys to utilities that will keep
  25. users out of database directories while they are not using the 'preferred'

  32. Netware 3.11 utilities are:
  33. NUTL8.ZIP   over 50 small batch utilities.  Designed for Netware 3.x.
  34. But still usefull for Netware 4.1 sites.

  36. Netware 4.10 (NDS) Utilities are:
  37. N4UTLxx.ZIP  batch utilities written for NDS and Netware 4.10.
  38.   Previous versions of N4PASS included these.
  39. N4PAxx.EXE   Enable your helpdesk to change user passwords with full
  40.   logging, and without complex object right manipulation.
  41. NLOGxx.EXE   includes NLOGIN.EXE, a utility to make logging into 4.x
  42.   servers easier, and a full demonstration of using the included utilities
  43.   to maintain/upgrade workstation drivers and other files.
  44. NCAPxx.EXE   includes ?CAPTURE.EXE, a utility to display to the enduser
  45.   a 'pick' list of accessible print queues and print jobs that be used.
  46.   Saves to a 'common' .cfg file.
  47. WMAP.EXE     includes WMAP.EXE and its source code.  Windows-based app for
  48.   setting drive mappings to attached and unattached servers.

  136. NDSRight is a DOS command-line utility that allows a user to change the
  137. ACL assignments of any NDS objects. The use of wild card ("*") is
  138. supported. Therefore, you can batch-update/change ACL assignments. This is
  139. particularly useful if you have a large number of objects to manage.
  140. You can also use NDSRight to report the ACL assignments for audit purposes.

  150. 3.x and 4.x networks. NWCopy allows copying of files and directories to
  151. multiple NetWare file servers by simply dragging the selected files from
  152. File  Manager or Explorer and dropping them on the NWCopy window. Many
  153. options for  configuring how and when files are updated. Requires Microsoft
  154. Windows 95 with  Novell's Client 32 installed.

  180. NDS related files from the SYS:_NETWARE directory.  A handy tool to 
  181. determine the total size of your NDS database files, including any backup

  195. SCHEMARC and SCHEMRST are a pair of software utility programs developed
  196. by Palindrome Corporation to protect Netware Directory Service installations.
  197. They backup and restore the Directory Services schema.  These programs
  198. are only intended for use in the protection of Directory Services
  199. schema, not for cloning, copying or other purposes.  These utilities only
  200. protect the schema;  you must protect the NDS objects themselves with 
  201. another backup system.

  206. A DOS command line utility to report all file system trustee and
  207. inherited rights assignments on a Netware 4.x server.  Can also optionally
  208. create a batch file containing all the RIGHTS statements needed to 
  209. recreate all the assignments on the volume.  Freeware.

  212.      o NDSLogin - log into a NetWare 4 tree without having to know the
  213.                   context of the user object.
  214.      o NDSAdmin - a simple utility that allows Help Desk users (with proper
  215.                   NDS rights) to change a user's password, reset grace
  216.                   login counts, and reset intruder detection lockouts.
  217.      o NDSRight - a DOS command-line utility to assign ACL rights to any
  218.                   object or attributes of an object. Can also be used to
  219.                   report ACL rights of objects.
  220.      o FSTrust  - a pair of utilities that will read the file system trustee
  221.                   assignments into a text file using NDS mode. i.e. trustee
  222.                   names are in NDS format rather than object ids. This is
  223.                   useful when you need to move directories from one volume
  224.                   to another or from one server to another without lost of
  225.                   file system trustee information.
  226.      o NDSPass  - a DOS command-line utility to change the NDS password for
  227.                   any user object, provided you have sufficient rights.
  228.      o BINPass  - a DOS command-line utility to change the bindery password
  229.                   for any user object, provided you have sufficient rights.
